This report provides a comprehensive evaluation of the first year of the Community Resilience Fund (CRF), which was established in response to the cost-of-living crisis. Under CRF, GambleAware has awarded grants to community-based organisations in England, Wales, and Scotland to support and raise awareness about gambling harms.
CRF supported 21 organisations to address gambling harms, reaching over 100,000 people through awareness activities.
The fund targeted underrepresented groups, with 19 organisations new to gambling-specific interventions.
Stigma and hidden harms were barriers to participation, requiring culturally sensitive and holistic approaches.
Training staff in gambling harms significantly improved their confidence and service delivery.
Sustained outcomes depend on additional funding and integration of gambling harms into broader health and social services.
