Key findings
Gambling-related harms are experienced beyond the person who gambles. The majority of family members affected by their loved one's gambling, experienced significant harms with:
- finances (94%)
- work and/or education (82%)
- health (99%)
- emotions (83%)
- relationships (67%)
The report found that shame and stigma are major barriers to seeking help and support services need to raise awareness and improve accessibility.
