GambleAware issues new Invitation to Tender for residential rehabilitation programme

4th Jun 2021 GambleAware updates Press release

GambleAware has issued a new Invitation to Tender for a pilot project to extend the National Gambling Treatment Service provision of residential rehabilitation for gambling disorder.

London, 04 June 2021: GambleAware has issued a new Invitation to Tender for a pilot project to extend the National Gambling Treatment Service provision of residential rehabilitation for gambling disorder. The new service will have a specific focus on complex and co-morbid presentation amongst service users.

Based on the existing treatment landscape we know that that there are gaps in the provision of residential care to address co-occurring health needs, including mental health problems and complexities. These findings were subsequently supported by the Treatment Needs and Gap Analysis, and also GambleAware’s Annual Statistics for the National Gambling Treatment Service.

To address these gaps, GambleAware is commissioning a pilot project, with an estimated funding of £1 million over a three-year period, to fill gaps in the provision of treatment and explore potential uptake of services among those currently underrepresented.

GambleAware is seeking bids from qualified organisations to provide residential rehabilitation for adults presenting with gambling disorder and complexities, specifically co-morbid alcohol and/or substance use disorder.

Interested bidders should demonstrate strong competency in the treatment of gambling disorder, as the primary diagnosis, as well as the clinical management of co-occurring health needs, including mental health conditions and substance misuse.

GambleAware will be holding an engagement event on Friday 18th June for those wishing to submit a proposal. The event will be an opportunity to ask questions about the brief, and FAQs will be published on the GambleAware website afterwards.

The closing date for submissions is 12pm Friday 16th July.
