Voluntary donations
We ask all those who profit from gambling to donate a minimum 0.1% of their annual Gross Gambling Yield (GGY) to GambleAware each year. We ask those with an annual GGY of less than £250,000 to donate a minimum of £250.
A regulatory settlement is an agreement between the Gambling Commission and a gambling operator in cases where concerns have been raised about the operator.
When the Gambling Commission takes regulatory action against an operator, one resolution is for the operator to make a payment to an approved organisation delivering gambling harm research, prevention or treatment services.
When regulatory settlements are paid to GambleAware we use the funds to:
improve existing services
support innovation and develop tools to help reduce gambling harm
Donations of unclaimed winnings, dormant accounts or similar
We sometimes receive additional donations from organisations that profit from gambling. For example, donations of unclaimed winnings, dormant accounts or similar. These are not classed as RPT donations derived from Gross Gambling Yield.
